Even though I had braced myself for a horror show, my heart sank when we walked into Home Farm;  a dairy farm just like many many others in the UK. For the cows here there was no dignity in life and no dignity in death… mothers cried for their calves, cows lay on concrete floors in cramped pens with full-to-burst udders leaking milk, and for those who were no longer useful there was a wheelie bin or a patch of mud for their final resting place. As humans we should be hanging our heads in shame. The only light at the end of the tunnel for me is that at least I have Viva! to be proud of.
